In the history of human population, the humans have always moved from one land to another more prospect land, otherwise known as immigration. Immigration is the movement of one country into another for the sole purpose of a stable residence. The United States has long been considered as a stable residence for many and is known as the "free country," where residents have full freedom on rights in which they choose and allege. Since each year, an increasing percentage of immigration occurs in the United States. Immigrants from foreign countries immigrating to the United States have been a controversial topic of debate. Some of the biggest problems of immigration within the United States is the contemporized issues with regards to illegal immigrants, job settlement, and economic benefits.

Immigrants travel everywhere in search of more prospect land to live upon and initially settle for a place close to home. For the immigrants that were not accepted by other closer countries, they turn to the United States as a possible solution to reside their needs. Immigrants decide to settle in the United States from inspirational dreams of prosperity and opportunity not found in the third world. While immigrants from third world countries look upon the United States for prosperity, there is also another type of immigrant called illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants, also known as "aliens," also share the same goal of revolving to the United States as an inventive step towards a brighter future but could not legally cross the border to the United States due to passport complications. Each year, many of both legal and illegal immigrants seek out the prosperity of the United States. By adding the total number of legal and illegal immigrants in the United States present day, about half of all United States population growth makes up immigration. If the stability of this immigration rate stabilizes, the total United States population would increase by seventy million within fifty years. This means that the United States is accepting more foreign citizens than the rest of the countries combined. This poses a very strong indication to improvise the regulation of immigration in the United States with strict border control. In order to control the rate of illegal immigrants entering the United States each year, border patrols are hired to arrest illegal immigrants. Not only do illegal immigration increases population size, they also pose several major problems with job settlement.

With illegal immigrants entering the United States, the United States world population would increase by an enormous rate. This would result in an increasing amount of people looking for jobs in the labor force. An increasing amount of illegal immigrants entering the United States each year also poses a problem that many company jobs are being scarf as a result illegal immigrants willing to work for a severely lower wage than the minimum wage. A common assumption of an immigrant supporter concludes that illegal aliens would fulfill only the least desirable jobs. However, the matter of truth is there is no shortage of Americans competing for many of these same jobs. In fact, many Americans are already working in these low paid jobs. The reason many businesses favor the increasing surge of illegal immigration is so they can profit from employing illegal laborers at low wages.

Illegal immigrants seek the United States as a profound land to revitalize their lives. Many illegal immigrants are already far better off living in the United States than in their own countries. However, many illegal immigrants may be targeted and oppressed by false employers and be treated in a similar fashion as slaves. These immigrants would give the United States a bad reputation and would be denied their freedom rights and privilege everyone in the United States should enjoy and cherish. Immigration is a topic that will not go away in fifty years. For many generations, our forefathers ensured that Americans today can enjoy the freedom for which the United States stands, the pure quality of life that it brings, and the standard living that it sets for everyone living in the free land, the United States.
